The Nebraska women’s basketball team opens Big Ten Tournament play on Wednesday when the Huskers take on Illinois in Indianapolis. Tip-off between the Huskers and the Fighting Illini at Bankers Life Fieldhouse is set for 12:30 p.m.
The Huskers finished the regular season 3-13 in the Big Ten but wins at home over Indiana and Michigan have provided Nebraska some momentum heading into the tournament.
“We feel in the last couple of weeks we have proven we can be competitive with some teams at the top of our league in Lincoln”, said Nebraska coach Amy Williams. “Now it is time for us to go and prove we can do that away from Pinnacle Bank Arena and on a neutral court.”
The Illini also finished 3-13 and beat the Huskers 79-59 in their only meeting back in mid-January.
