Creighton has dropped one spot to 23rd in the latest Associated Press poll. The Bluejays split a pair of games last week, winning at 22nd ranked Butler before squandering a nine point halftime lead in an 82-80 loss to a Xavier team that is ranked 24th this week.
“That was a key point in the game”, said Creighton coach Greg McDermott. “If we go on a little run there and take it from nine to 15 instead of them taking it from nine to three then it is a different story. We have got to get that figured out.”
Creighton begins the week in a third place tie with Butler in the BIG EAST race with a record of 7-4.
The Bluejays 20-4 overall and have now been ranked 82 weeks in program history, including all 14 polls this season. They return to action Saturday with a visit to DePaul.
