Many Nebraskans woke up to a blanket of white this morning after a snow system moved through the upper two-thirds of the state overnight. Bryon Miller is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Omaha and says a half-foot fell in some areas.
Miller says, “The heaviest snow roughly occurred from the Neligh and Albion areas eastward across Norfolk, Stanton toward Tekamah and then into western Iowa northeast of Omaha. Amounts in that band mostly from three to six inches.”
Miller says in the Omaha metro area one to four inches of snow fell with much lighter amounts south. He says there is another band of snow that is effecting areas from near Lincoln eastward to Nebraska City into southwest Iowa but that decreasing by early afternoon.
