Omaha police say a medical episode might have led to a fatal wreck Thursday evening.
According to police, 71-year-old Michael McCasland of Omaha died shortly after being rushed to CHI Creighton Hospital.
A witness tells police McCasland’s car, which was traveling north on 30th Street, began to drift out of its lane, striking the front end of another car which had stopped at the Kansas Avenue intersection. Both vehicles ended up in the grass along the south side of Miller Park.
Omaha Fire Medics performed life saving measures on McCasland, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital. It is believe McCasland suffered a medical episode prior to the crash. An autopsy will be performed.
