One man is in custody, two others are being sought, after a pursuit by a Nebraska State Patrol trooper ended in an early morning crash Saturday in Omaha on Interstate 80.
NSP says the trooper attempted to stop a pick-up for speeding on I-80. The pick-up failed to stop. It ran off the roadway, went up an embankment, and crashed into a fence, hitting three vehicles on a side street near 20th and Ontario Streets.
The driver, 42-year-old Jason Pemberton of Omaha, was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he is being treated for injuries. Two passengers fled on foot. They are being sought by authorities.
A preliminary investigation suggests the pick-up was stolen.
Both the Nebraska State Patrol and the Omaha Police Department are investigating.
