Lancaster County deputies seized nearly 300 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.
The pot has an estimated street value of $900,000.
Lancaster County Chief Deputy Sheriff Todd Duncan says a deputy pulled a van over just outside of Lincoln on Interstate 80 and immediately smelled marijuana. A total of 280 pounds of marijuana was discovered hidden throughout the van. The deputy also discovered more than $60,000 in cash.
According to Duncan, the van was traveling east on I-80. It didn’t have working tail lights.
The driver, 58-year-old Mao Vang, and her passenger, 53-year-old Tseng Yang, both from Minnesota have been charged with possession of illegal drugs with the intent to sell it.
