A young Omaha man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison and ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to robbing Dunkin Donut restaurants located in both Lincoln and Omaha.
27-year-old Robert Brannon will serve three years of supervised release after prison.
Brannon robbed a Dunkin Donuts in Omaha in early 2016 with what appeared to be a gun, demanding the two employees open the safe. When they couldn’t open it, he took around $150 from the cash registers. He put the two in the freezer, where they dialed 911. Officer responded. The two were unharmed.
Brannon was arrested a couple of days later with a firearm in his possession.
Brannon had been believed to be involved in two earlier Dunkin Donut robberies; one at another Omaha location and one at a Lincoln location in late 2015. Though there was insufficient evidence to charge him in those robberies, Brannon agreed as part of his guilty plea to pay restitution for all three robberies.
Brannon had previously worked at two of the Dunkin Donuts.
