A Plattsmouth man has pleaded guilty to bank fraud for running a check kiting scheme at four Nebraska banks.
59-year-old Mark Tincher could be sentenced to 30 years in federal prison and face a million dollar fine.
Federal prosecutors say Tincher maintained checking accounts at Plattsmouth State Bank, Arbor Bank, Murray State Bank, and Glenwood State Bank between April and June of 2010. Tincher would manipulate checks between the four banks to create artificially inflated account balances by floating the checks between the banks.
Plattsmouth State Bank lost approximately $700,000. Glenwood State Bank lost approximately $90,000.
Tincher will be sentenced in June.
