The Nebraska football team resumes spring drills on Tuesday and there has been plenty of competition in the offensive line. Center is the only spot the Huskers don’t have a player returning with starting experience.
“The guy that is there has got to be a smart guy”, said Husker offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh. “I think these guys are good athletes and we should be better in space and with screens. We have got to have one of those guys step up, take control, be the field general and make all of the right calls.”
Nick Gates started all 13 games at left tackle and two players with staring experience, David Knevel and Cole Conrad, are competing at right tackle.
Nebraska’s spring game is April 15.
