A 34-year-old Lincoln man has been sentenced to life in prison, plus 50-80 years, for shooting a 25-year-old developmentally disabled man to death in January of 2016.
Anthony Wells had been convicted of killing Joshua Hartwig earlier this year by a Lancaster County jury.
Hartwig was a participant in the Special Olympics.
Testimony during the murder trial stated that Wells had returned to the Lincoln apartment complex angry after tenants had confronted him for how he treated the mother of his child. Hartwig lived with his father at that complex. He got caught in crossfire after Wells began shooting.
