Nebraska defensive coordinator Bob Diaco says his goal is to get the best 11 players on the field. Diaco resumed installation of a new 3-4 defense on Tuesday as the Huskers resumed spring drills and says some players are getting a look at more than one position.
“I feel like were are putting another coat of paint on and that is exciting”, said Diaco. “Every player is improving.”
Diaco has been through this before. He installed the 3-4 at Notre Dame and UConn and realizes this is the first time for the players and many of the assistants.
“We try to take into account where we are at”, added Diaco. “We have already on a day-day basis added or deleted an installation plan so it can be user friendly to the guys.”
Nebraska’s annual Red-White Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 15 at Memorial Stadium.
