A 43-year-old Nebraska man has been killed, three other Nebraska residents were injured, in a boating accident at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 43-year-old Daniel Walters of Battle Creek, Nebraska died Thursday evening.
The patrol reports the boat crashed after traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the shoreline around mile marker 71 at the Lake of the Ozarks.
48-year-old Darryn Keith of Pierce, Nebraska was seriously injured and flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Two other Battle Creek residents, Dan Young and Andrew Hrabanek, suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
The patrol said it is unclear who was driving the boat. It was the first boating fatality on the popular Missouri lake destination this year.
