Paul McCartney is coming to the CenturyLink Center in Omaha on Sunday, July 23rd and will be one of the hottest tickets in town. McCartney has been performing since 1960 with the Beatles and keeps going and going. Mike Fratt is the general manager of Homer’s Records in Omaha’s Old Market and says there is no doubt that the appeal for McCartney keeps growing.
Fratt says, “Band On The Run” is probably Paul’s most successful non-Beatles effort. “Wings At The Speed Of Sound”, “McCartney II”, “Ram”, “Venus And Mars” have also performed fairly well. Of course the Beatles catalog, all of it continues to sell. The 50th anniversary of “Sgt. Pepper” is coming up and there are special expanded versions on vinyl and CD coming out May 28th on that as well.”
Fratt says Beatles sales have been robust since they re-issued the their catalog on vinyl. He says McCartney has been working for several years to get his entire solo catalog in expanded fan versions and making them available again.
Fratt say interest in McCartney will pick up as the concert nears.
