A mobile children’s museum is traveling across Nebraska to provide kids a fun hands-on learning experience.
Regan Anson, executive director of the Nebraska 150 Celebration, says the “Truckin’ Through Nebraska” mobile museum is a way to provide easy access to Nebraska history lessons.
“Our state is huge and we wanted to do something that could reach every corner and something that every Nebraskan was within an hour or two-hour drive and could attend and take part in,” she says.
The mobile museum is contained in a 53-foot double-expandable trailer full of exhibits.
Anson says it’s an easy avenue to bring Nebraska history to Nebraskans.
“If you’ve ever been to a children’s museum you know that all of the activities are meant to be engaging and fun and kids learn a lot while they’re engaged,” Anson says. “We also have a lot of activities that are set up outdoors.”
Admission is free. The museum is making stops in 42 communities across Nebraska now through October.
