An investigator for the Nebraska State Patrol has been accused of stealing ammunition from the patrol facility in Omaha.
NSP reports 44-year-old Christopher Kober of Bellevue has been charged with theft.
The patrol states the charge is based on an investigation of alleged misappropriation of NSP equipment. Kober has been on unpaid suspension since the investigation began. He is an investigator for Troop A. Kober has been with NSP since July of 1994.
The felony carries a maximum possible prison sentence of 20 years.
Kober’s attorney, Clarence Mock, told the Omaha World Herald though Kober took ammunition, it doesn’t mean he stole it. Mock says ammunition can be used for personal use to improve trooper skills.
