Douglas County prosecutors are looking into a very strange case that has been going on for at least three years. 45 year old Douglas Goldsberry of Elkhorn is accused of hiring escorts, prostitutes and dancers to come to a neighbor’s home with instructions to take off their clothes. This started in 2013 and happened upwards of 30 times a year.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office set up surveillance and eventually was able to track down some of the girls so they could find out who was hiring them. Investigators say Goldsberry would watch what was going on from his home. He was arrested last week inside a hotel room where deputies also found a suicide note. He was booked for felony pandering and his bond set at $100,000.
There were small children inside the neighbor’s home and often times the women hired would become upset because they expected to be paid.
Kleine says part of the investigation includes the possibility of human trafficking as some of the girls involved appeared to be underage.
