Severe weather raked across eastern Nebraska on Wednesday afternoon for the third day in a row, bringing heavy rain, high winds and hail.
Reports say a possible tornado damaged a rural home in Cuming County near Wisner. It’s not far from the town of Pilger, which was nearly wiped out by a twister in 2014.
The National Weather Service says large hail fell in Saline County near Wilber, as well as in Thurston, Saunders and Douglas counties.
Nearly three inches of rain fell in Lancaster County near Raymond, with more heavy rainfall reported in Cass and Sarpy counties.
Wind gusts topped off between 50 and 60 miles an hour at Offutt Air Force Base.
No serious injuries are reported from this round of severe weather in Nebraska, but there was one death from the same storm system yesterday in Iowa when a semi-truck was blown off a highway.
