It was a murder case with a lot of twists and turns but in the end the suspect, 41 year old Shanna Golyar was found guilty in the 2012 murder of 37 year old Cari Farver. Prosecutors say it turned out to be a love triangle with both women dating the same man.
In court today, Judge Timothy Burns called the murder quote – a twisted plot of lies, deceit and impersonations. He says, “Cari Farver did not voluntarily disappear and drop off the face of the earth. Very sadly she was murdered. The court finds beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant intentionally killed Cari Farver with deliberate and premeditated malice.”
Prosecutors say that Farver was killed inside her own vehicle and then Golyar disposed of her body in the woods. Golyar then posed as Farver online to cover up the murder.
Along with being found guilty of first degree murder, Golyar was found guilty of second degree arson. She set her own house on fire and blamed Farver who hadn’t been seen for nearly a year.
Golyar will be sentenced on August 12th and will spend the rest of her life behind bars.
