For the second straight year Nebraska was two and done in regional play after the Huskers lost to Yale and Holy Cross over the weekend at a regional hosted by Oregon State. Coach Darin Erstad’s team finishes 35-22-1 after winning the Big Ten regular season title.
“I have played in a lot of post seasons and been around them as a player and a coach and it all comes down to who gets hot at a certain time”, said Erstad. “For whatever reason the last two years we have gone ice cold offensively. You have got to come up with big hits and for whatever reason we have not been able to come up with those the last two couple of years.”
It brought an end to the career of the Husker seniors who led the program to three trips to the NCAA Regionals.
“They have done a lot of great things and this group has a very strong bond.”
