A head-on collision on Interstate 80 in western Nebraska has claimed two lives.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports the crash happened last night five miles west of Ogallala when an eastbound pick-up crossed the median of I-80 and hit a westbound pick-up head on.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The second driver was taken to Ogallala Community Hospital when he was later pronounced dead. Neither name has been released by NSP, because next of kin have yet to be notified.
NSP closed the westbound lanes of I-80 for more than three hours while troopers conducted their investigation.
