Raul Mondesi and Bubba Starling each had four hits and Jorge Soler drove in five runs as the Omaha Storm Chasers outslugged the Oklahoma City Dodgers 15-11 at Bricktown Park. the teams combined for 29 hits in a game that took nearly three and a half hours to complete as the Chasers improved their record to 33-31 on the season.
Omaha scored an immediate run in the top of the first on a single by Mondesi and a double by Starling.
Oklahoma City answered with 3 in the bottom of the inning; Alex Verdugo singled, Drew Maggie homered, and Willie Calhoun homered to make it 3-1 Dodgers.
But the Storm Chasers hit back with 6 in the top of the 2nd. Frank Schwindel doubled, Dean Anna walked, and Brayan Pena singled to load the bases. Garin Cecchini drew a walk to force in Schwindel, Ruben Sosa singled to score Anna, and Mondesi doubled to bring home Pena and Cecchini and put Omaha ahead 5-3. With 1 out, Soler bounced a double down the left field line, plating Sosa and Mondesi for a 7-3 advantage.
The teams close out their series tonight.
