Dominant pitching leads Florida at CWS

June 21, 2017 By Todd Kimm

Another gem by a starting pitcher has Florida on the verge of clinching a spot in the championship round of the College World Series. The Gators got seven strong innings from Brady Singer in a 5-1 victory over Louisville.

“I thought Brady Singer was outstanding, again”, said Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan. “Over the last couple of weeks Alex Faedo and Brady have stepped up their game to another level. I think you saw that tonight.”

Singer allowed only six hits while striking out nine and says he tried to maintain a simple approach to the game.

“I was just trying to pitch to win and not trying to be too fine with anything”, said Singer. “Just pitching to both sides of the plate.”

After going 0-2 in last year’s College World Series the Gators can clinch a spot in the title series with a victory on Friday night.
