A Nebraska U.S. senator will be spending time behind the wheel in Iowa — all because of the Huskers’ loss to the Hawkeyes last November.
Last fall, Senator Ben Sasse bet that the Cornhuskers would beat the Hawkeyes. He made this bet in a series of public tweets. Now Sasse is honoring his bet — so he will be — an Uber driver in Iowa City this weekend, wearing Iowa Hawkeye gear.
He’s been an Uber driver before, in Lincoln, and riders have given Sasse a five-star rating. However, because he is a senator, the law says Sasse cannot be paid for his Ubering anywhere, including Iowa City.
Tonight, Sasse is scheduled to be in Nevada, Iowa, speaking at the summer fundraiser for Story County Republicans.
