The storms, which did damage to more than 18 Nebraska counties, spawned six tornadoes, gale-force winds, along with golf ball to baseball sized hail.
The Nebraska Congressional delegation petitioned the White House for the disaster declaration to trigger federal aid to help offset costs to respond to the damage and help with restoration.
“I appreciate President Trump’s prompt response to our delegation’s request. Eighteen Nebraska counties face significant damages due to the severe storms in June,” U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer said in a written statement issued by her office. This declaration will help our communities with their rebuilding and recovery efforts.”
The storms from June 12th through the 15th did an estimated $13,780,000 in damage.
