If you are crazy about corn dogs or spinning for a funnel cake, things just got easier to find your favorite foods at the Nebraska State Fair. Facilities Director Jaime Parr says they have made some upgrades to their electronic kiosks located around the fairgrounds.
Parr says, “Something they were missing last year and that they have this year is a keyword search function. Somebody can type in one word they are looking for, lets say meatloaf, type it into the screen and then it will search through all the information in the kiosk and bring up all the places you can see and hear about meatloaf.”
Parr says the State Fair team spends a lot of time documenting all of or acts, entertainment, merchandise, shopping and of course fair food. They input that into the electronic kiosks and the State Fair website and by typing in that one word it will direct you to what you want to find on the fairgrounds.
Speaking of fair food, some of the new items this year will be smoked meatloaf, a redneck ruben burger, a desert crepe and a tamale slammer. Parr says they have over 60 food vendors featuring hamburgers, corn dogs, deep fried food on a stick and much more. The State Fair runs from August 25th through September 4th in Grand Island.
