Officials with the Department of Health and Human Services say they have received four reports from Omaha and one from Holdrege.
Those reporting to the state say a woman has been posing as a state worker. She has been telling residents she wants to talk to the parent. No one let her enter their house, because she didn’t provide identification.
“Incidents of people posing as DHHS employees are a serious concern,” CEO Courtney Phillips said in a written statement released by DHHS. “All DHHS employees carry a state-issued, DHHS photo identification badge and can provide a name and number to call to verify their employment.”
State officials say anyone unsure about the identity of a person claiming to be a DHHS employee should report it to the Adult and Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline at 1-800-652-1999’ to confirm a name and the employees phone number. A description of the person and their car and license plate also will help the investigation.
