When the Nebraska football team returns to the practice field today attention will shift to the September 2 season opener against Arkansas State. The Huskers wrapped up their third week of fall camp over the weekend.
“They have stayed the course as good as any group I have ever been with”, said Nebraska coach Mike Riley. “It has been impressive and there were hardly any distractions. I have appreciated this group a lot and I think that has a chance to pay real dividends.”
The Huskers received votes in the Associated Press pre-season poll. Alabama enters the season top ranked and Ohio Statye is second. Florida State, USC and defending national champion Clemson complete the top five.
