One teen-ager died, another suffered injuries after a car rolled, then flipped when the driver lost control of it on a county road near Ashland.
The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office reports 16-year-old Nolan Beckenhauer of Ceresco, the passenger in the vehicle, died in the wreck. 16-year-old Conner Buettner of Manley, the driver, is being treated at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
The office says the accident occurred early Sunday evening as the vehicle traveled north on County Road 8, north of County Road A. Witnesses reported the vehicle lost control on the county road. It rolled twice door-to-door. It then flipped end-to-end three times.
Lifenet transported Beckenhauer to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead. Buettner is listed in stable condition at UNMC. Both were wearing seatbelts.
The investigation into the wreck continues.
