With a year of experience Nebraska punter Caleb Lightbourn expects to be more consistent this season. Lightbourn was thrust into action as a true freshman following the tragic death of Sam Foltz and averaded just a shade under 40 yards per punt in 2016.
“I think that I am so much more prepared because I know exactly what to expect”, said Lightbourn. “I played in every game and have been in a lot of different situations and it has made me more mature.”
Lightbourn’s punting coach is new Husker defensive coordinator Bob Diaco.
“He already has helped me tremendously as far as confidence goes.”
The Huskers open September 2 at home against Arkansas State.
