Marketing Coordinator Mark Foradori says the crowds started on Saturday and through Monday attendance was a record breaker.
“Over those three days we had over 1,800 people come through the Archway,” Foradori says. “For this time of year when school is starting usually our numbers start to drop at that time but this time it just soared. It really tested our capacity because we were sending people up the escalator and through the exhibit as fast as we could do it.”
Last Saturday, 460 people walked through their doors compared to the Saturday one year ago when they had 230 visitors. On Sunday they had 733 visitors compared to 235 one year ago and Monday 709 guests compared to 149 in 2016.
Foradori says they will likely remain busier than normal as visitors stop by on their way home from their eclipse vacation.
