A grand jury has cleared the Lancaster County jail staff of any wrongdoing in the death of an inmate.
54-year-old Terry Flournoy died in late April on the way to a hospital after complaining to jail staff that he was having a difficult time breathing.
Police arrested Flournoy April 26th on a trespassing charge. He was also wanted on a misdemeanor warrant.
Flournoy had been taken to a hospital after his arrest where he was discharged and jailed. Flournoy later complained he was having trouble breathing. He died while on his way back to the hospital.
A medical examination determined Flournoy died of heart disease.
State law requires a grand jury investigate any death while in the custody of law enforcement.
