Early this morning the big American Idol bus pulled up to Lewis and Clark Landing in Omaha. Producers were met with long lines of people waiting to audition for the TV talent show.
One of those is Anna Jessick, an elementary music teacher in Bellevue. She says, “I’ve never auditioned for any kind of show before. This is my first audition. I’m excited. I’m a little nervous because I really don’t know what to expect. I’ll be singing a Beatles song, ‘Let It Be’.” Jessick says she was also very happy she had the opportunity to audition as she was given the day off from school to try her luck.
Vocalists from many states made the trip to Omaha today for the auditions. Sara Koca drove in from Lincoln and says, “I’ve done several competitions as well as the Galaxy of Stars at the fair. I won in my age division there so this is a little bit of a boost.”
Registration is until 5 this afternoon and producers will stay as long as they need to hear all of the auditions. Auditions are open to anyone ages 15 to 28.
