Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee is set to lead the offense as the Huskers get ready for the season opener against Arkansas State. Lee sat out last season after his transfer from Tulane.
“It has been a long time since I have been out there in some live action and I miss that”, said Lee. “Just thinking back on where I was when I ended my career at Tulane and not knowing where I was going to be and to be in the position I am now I feel very humbled and lucky.”
Lee started nine games at quarterback in 2015 for Tulane and threw for 1,639 yards and 11 touchdowns, while completing 52 percent of his passes.
Husker coach Mike Riley has praised Lee for his consistent approach on and off the field and says he just needs game experience.
“When we call a play and I can see a coverage I know where the ball should go and if it is not going there we have got a problem”, said Riley. “I feel good about Tanner’s ability to know what to do with the football.”
