It appears two teenagers were racing on a city street, causing a fatal accident in Lincoln Wednesday morning.
16-year-old Blayne Rezac, a junior at North Star High School, died in the wreck which eventually involved five vehicles.
Lincoln Police Officer Angela Sands says witnesses report two teens were apparently racing on North 84th Street when the chain-reaction accident occurred.
One of the teen drivers hit the brakes to avoid a rear-end collision, lost control of his car, and ran into the car beside him. That caused both to jump the median, cross over into on-coming traffic, where they ran into three other vehicles.
The accident sent six people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
