A medical team from the Nebraska National Guard will join fellow members working on hurricane relief efforts in Texas.
The Nebraska National Guard reports a 44-person medical team will be deployed to areas in east Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey.
The team has nurses, those trained in triage, as well as other medical professionals.
Thirty-six Nebraska National Guard crew members have been working in relief efforts in the Houston area. Guardsmen from Nebraska have rescued more than 300 people trapped by floodwaters. They have also rescued 44 animals.
Nebraska Task Force 1, based in Lincoln, has been on the scene as well and has helped with more than 1,500 rescues.
