The unofficial end of summer is over and that means thoughts turn to fall. The owners of Vala’s Pumpkin Patch near Gretna say it is autumn year round for them. They are getting ready to welcome hundreds of thousands of guests this year at the popular eastern Nebraska attraction. Owner Tim Vala says they add new attractions every year and this year it is five new zip lines.
Vala says, “We have a few different heights for smaller kids but they are the kind you don’t need a harness for. It is about a 100 foot long zip line and we are thinking the kids will really like that.”
Vala says also new this year is a bird sanctuary where children can use sticks to feed the birds. They also added a new cottage play area. Vala says all of their regular features will be back again this year including live shows, attractions funhouses, spook houses, games and of course pumpkins, pies and lots of food.
Vala’s officially opens on September 25th and is located at 12102 S. 180th Street, Gretna.
