Education Secretary Betsy DeVos will visit Nebraska this week, the Nebraska Department of Education confirmed.
Details of the visit have not been released.
According to state education officials, DeVos is visiting Nebraska as part of her first back-to-school tour to highlight innovations in schools across the country; the “Rethink School” tour.
Nebraska Department of Education Commissioner Matthew Blomstedt welcomes the opportunity to highlight Nebraska schools during DeVos’ visit.
“We have a lot to be proud of in Nebraska. Every day teachers are creatively engaging students in increasingly innovative ways. We welcome the chance to host Secretary DeVos and demonstrate how Nebraska schools are leading the way in education,” Blomstedt said in a written statement released by the department.
The Rethink School tour starts in Wyoming, then heads to Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana.
