Nebraska coach Mike Riley says one look at the film of Saturday’s loss at Oregon should get his Huskers ready for this week’s game at home against Northern Illinois. After falling behind 42-14 at halftime the Huskers had a second half rally fall short in a 42-35 loss.
“We they look at that video they should just be sick and they should want to get out there and work to be better than that”, said Riley. “I don’t care if we are playing the Green Bay Packers or whatever, it should be about us knowing we can be better.”
Riley says a decision on the status of sophomore running back Tre Bryant will be made at midweek. Bryant rushed for 107 yards against the Ducks but was helped off the field early in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. Riley says the injury is not new.
“We have from the beginning of camp managed Tre in a way that we don’t overwork him”, added Riley. “That thing in the game and the way he was bent aggravated it but there is no new injury where something else happened.”
Northern Illinois is 1-1. The Huskies opened with a 23-20 loss to Boston College before downing Eastern Illinois 38-10.
