Creighton University today unveiled a new design for the playing court at CenturyLink Center Omaha that will debut in the upcoming 2017-18 season.
At first glance, fans will notice the familiar royal blue outline that surrounds the court, as well as the 25-foot Creighton logo at midcourt. The First National Bank and CenturyLink Center Omaha logos on the west side of the court remain intact, though the corresponding logos on the east side of the court are now reversed to face towards the television cameras that shoot from the east side of the facility.
Also new is the color outside the three-point arc that covers most of the court on both sides, which is a lighter stain.
The word “Creighton” remains underneath the south baseline, but also now appears along the north baseline, replacing the word “Bluejays”. The east sideline now contains the word “Bluejays” in four-foot high text.
The court was produced by Robbins Sports Surfaces and measures 60 feet x 120 feet after factoring in the extended baseline and sideline perimeter.
The redesign features the first major changes to the court since 2013-14, when Creighton introduced a new logo in conjunction with its first year in the BIG EAST Conference.
