A worker who prepares food at the state prison in Omaha has been arrested on charges he brought contraband into the prison.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services accuses 23-year-old Tre King of brining contraband into the Omaha Correction Center.
“The introduction of contraband is a serious threat to the safety and security of our facilities,” State Corrections Dir. Scott Frakes said in a written statement released by the department. “The diligent work by the staff at OCC resulted in this employee’s arrest and thwarted his ability to introduce additional contraband.”
Corrections investigators arrested King Friday. He is being held in the Douglas County jail. He is charged with unauthorized communication, conspiracy to commit a felony, and obstructing governmental operations.
King worked as a food serve specialist. He began work at the Omaha prison in June of this year.
