The Department of Correctional Services reports the Nebraska State Penitentiary remains in partial lockdown while officials attempt to determine how K2 got into the prison. Officials evaluate the state of operations daily and increase movement within the prison as appropriate, according to Corrections.
For now, the Nebraska State Penitentiary remains in modified operations today and tomorrow with no inmate visits allowed. Visitation is scheduled to resume Friday.
Officials first cancelled all visits Sunday.
There have been at least 15 inmates over the weekend suspected of using K2, a synthetic cannabinoid, according to a news release.
Investigators are looking into how the drug got into the prison, among other things.
Officials are not releasing any other information during the active investigation.
