The Chadron State football team finally gets to play another home game. After making trips to California, Utah and New Mexico the Eagles return home on Saturday to host South Dakota School of Mines in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game.
“It is the first time we have been home in a month”, said Chadron State coach Jay Long. “Our guys are excited to go out and play in front of our home crowd. We get to sleep in our own beds on Friday night and we are excited about the challenge in front of us.”
After posting a 3-8 record a year ago the Eagles are 4-3 overall and Long says one of the factors is senior leadership.
“One of the things we have been stressing is our leadership and consistent effort”, added Long. “Our senior group is a great group of seniors. A majority of them have been here four or five years and bought in to what our program is about.”
South Dakota School of Mines is 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the RMAC.
