If Nebraska coach Mike Riley is on the hot seat it is not evident to Husker quarterback Tanner Lee. A 3-4 start to the season and a new athletic director have put Riley’s future in question heading into this week’s game at Purdue.
Lee says the Huskers are anxious to get this season turned around and help their coach.
“The biggest thing for us is we are focused on us as a team and not anything else”, said Lee. “I know our coaches are going to be focused on that 100 percent because they have been week in and week out. Their consistency is something that drew me to Nebraska and makes me really glad that I am here.”
Junior offensive lineman Jerald Foster says it is also a chance to erase the memory of a 55-45 loss at Purdue back in 2015.
“It is really big in the sense of us being able to make it to a bowl and us being able to wrap up in the season in the right way”, said Foster. “The back end of the season is going to be fun for us. We have got good competition and hopefully we will be able to get on a streak.”
