Seven juveniles are now in the custody after a carjacking Wednesday afternoon just south of the Old Market area in Omaha.
Police were called to the area around 5 p.m. after a woman reported that two male suspects forced her out of the truck and drove off.
Two hours later officers saw the pickup several blocks from where it was taken. Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop but the driver took off. The Omaha Police Department helicopter took over the chase and saw the vehicle head into Iowa. Council Bluffs police and Pottawattamie County deputies also tried to stop the pickup but the driver kept on going. The pickup eventually crossed back into Nebraska over the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Officers in the police helicopter reported that about seven occupants got out of the vehicle in south Omaha and ran. All seven were taken into custody.
Five of the suspects are male that range in age from 14 to 17. Two suspects are female, ages 15 and 16.
