Nebraska can move back above the break even point with a victory at home against Northwestern on Saturday.
Come from behind wins can be a spark and that is what the Huskers (4-4) are hoping for after scoring two late touchdowns in a victory at Purdue. They take on a Northwestern team that stumbled early but is riding a three game wining streak.
“I think they did obviously enjoy finding a way to win that game”, said Nebraska coach Mike Riley. “But it has not been a lot different. I think the preparation has been good and now we have got to put it into the game”
Quarterback Clayton Thorson directs a Northwestern offense that is averaging nearly 25 points per game in the Big Ten.
“I’ve liked him for the years that I’ve seen him, and it’s a real bonus for Northwestern to have a veteran quarterback like that who has seen it all”, added Riley. “I’ve admired him through the time that I’ve been here.”
The Huskers hope to buck a trend that has seen the road team win five of the six games in the series. Kickoff in Memorial Stadium is 2:30p.m. The game will be carried by the Big Ten Network.
