Nebraska coach Mike Riley says he is focused on the stretch run of the season and not his long-term future. With a 4-5 record and new athletic director Bill Moos in place there is plenty of speculation on whether Riley will return for a fourth season as Husker coach. Nebraska visits Minnesota on Saturday.
“The one thing we are doing as a staff is we are going forward with the things we are supposed to do”, said Riley. We are coaching our team and recruiting the next one. That is what we are focused on.”
The Huskers need to win two of their final three games to become bowl eligible.
“It would be great for our team and for our seniors to get some wins and get bowl eligible”, added Riley. “It is definitely a carrot.”
Minnesota is 4-5 after a 33-10 win over Michigan.
