The U.S. Marine Corps has already started working on their annual Toys for Tots campaign and this year they are getting some help in the Omaha metro area. Reserve Gunnery Sergeant Angel Muro says the Omaha Mayor’s office, police and fire departments are joining the cause.
Sergeant Muro says, “This is probably the first time that I’ve seen multiple groups join forces to help out a child in need. It just shows that the city, from the top all the way down to the bottom, the city residents, are willing to come together for the goal of producing a toy for a child in need during the holiday season.”
Toy collection is underway. New and unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the mayor’s office or any police or fire station in Omaha. They will accept toys until December 1st.
