Firefighters remain at the scene of a massive mansion fire near 182nd and F Street in southwest Omaha. The call came in around 1 a.m. Intense flames destroyed the 10,000 square foot home valued at nearly $2 million. The house was for sale and no one was inside at the time. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were dealing with below freezing temperatures as the battle the flames. Firefighters from Boys Town and Waterloo were called in to assist. Firefighters also had a difficult time finding a water source at the scene.
Firefighters were able to safely evacuate several horses that were inside a barn on the ten acres of property.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
