The Creighton men’s basketball team faces its first road test of the season when the Bluejays play 20th ranked Northwestern in the third addition of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. The game will be played at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The Jays are 2-0 after wins over Yale and Alcorn State.
“You know we are going to be tested by an NCAA Tournament team that brings nearly everyone back”, said Creighton coach Greg McDermott. “It will be as heck of a challenge but these are the type of games that will teach you a lot about your team and hopefully be meaningful when March rolls around.”
Northwestern is 2-0 after posting a 79-75 win over Loyola (Md.) on Saturday and a 75-66 victory over Saint Peter’s on Monday. The Wildcats return four starters from a team that went 24-12 last year, reaching the program’s first NCAA Tournament and winning a game before being eliminated by eventual runner-up, Gonzaga.
