Gov. Pete Ricketts has appointed Hastings Economic Development Corporation Executive Director David Rippe as the next state Economic Development Director.
“Dave brings broad experience with both the state and local economic development community here in Nebraska,” Ricketts said in a written statement issued by his office. “During his time in Hastings, he helped secure new investments with expansions from Ag Processing Inc, Thermo King, Eaton, and Dutton-Lainson Company. Dave’s knowledge and relationships across the state will help Nebraska’s economic development team bring more good-paying opportunities, attract new investment, and grow Nebraska’s brand nationally and internationally.”
Before becoming the Hastings economic development director, Rippe served as an economic development consultant in business recruitment for DED. From 2005-2008, he served as a fiscal analyst in the Legislative Fiscal Office for the State of Nebraska.
Rippe starts as December 18th at $142,000 a year.
State Economic Development Director Courtney Dentlinger is resigning her post to become the Government Affairs Manager for the Nebraska Public Power District.
